With many tales of devotion brought to our attention along the way, we continue the peregrination of the Pilgrim Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa to St. John the Baptist Church in Costa Mesa on August 22.
Staffed by the Norbertines of Saint Michael’s Order, an order devoted to reverent public chanting of the choir office, the church sent Father Godfrey Bushmaker, O.Praem, to greet us upon our arrival for Eucharistic Adoration and evening Mass. The faithfulness of the priests was evident with many enthusiastic parishioners for the evening’s services. In celebrating the Mass, I spoke about the historic Ocean to Ocean pilgrimage and miracles associated with the Black Madonna. I was encouraged to speak extensively about all aspects pertaining to the Pilgrim Icon after Mass.
