From October 21 to 25 the Virgin of Czestochowa visited the Parish of San Alejo. On the first day She was welcomed with the Holy Rosary and the Holy Mass, after that a parish group called Sons de Mary, shared chocolate and bread with all the attendees.
On Sunday the Rosary was recited and the Holy Eucharist was offered with participation of young people who are preparing for confirmation.
On Monday, in addition to the rosary and Mass, a conference was held on the importance of the family. Tuesday was the Holy Eucharist after the Rosary.
San Alejo is a church that is at the Bay of Guayaquil, a very popular and commercial area and very close to the Simon Bolivar Malecon, on the banks of the Guayas River. As this is a church that remains open from very early in the morning, many people who visit the area came in for a moment to pray and when they met the Icon, something unknown to them, they took pictures individually in groups and as a families.
“I think the presence of this Icon has been very fruitful, this important memory of Mary in this advocation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us this grace and I hope that many parishes have the same opportunity”, said Fr. Cesar Piechestein, parish priest of the church.
